Windows 7 has got different versions which are tailored made for different set of users. Standard Windows editions are Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate. Among all these the common ones are the Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate. Recently I came across Windows 7 ISO Image Edition Switcher, a Free Utility which will allow you to switch your Windows 7 edition to another one.

Windows 7 ISO Image Edition Switcher is a set of small binary patches along with a tool to apply these patches which can convert an official Windows 7 ISO disc image into an official Windows 7 ISO disc image of another edition. Windows 7 ISO Image Edition Switcher consists of ei.cfg Removal Utility that will remove the ei.cfg from any Windows 7 ISO disc image and converts the image into a “universal disc” that will prompt the user to select an edition during setup. This tool is extremely fast and the process of patching the ISO to remove ei.cfg takes only a fraction of a second. Moreover the process is easily reversible; running the utility on a disc image patched by this utility will restore the disc image to its original state.
