Samsung bada – Samsung’s Open Mobile Platform Based on Linux
There are many mobile Operating Systems like Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, iPhone OS, WebOS and thousands of different mobiles running on them. To get a good share in the mobile market Samsung has launched it’s own mobile OS named as “bada” which is based on Linux. Samsung bada is a new open platform from Samsung that enables a richer user experience in applications on Samsung mobile devices. Samsung says that the design principles of “bada” aim to deliver simple, intuitive, and innovative user experiences through innovative visual design. Samsung bada includes a next generation UI framework with feature sets and design elements that facilitate leading-edge user interfaces for every bada application.
Samsung’s “bada”, an open platform will help the developers to create UI rich applications very easy. The other interesting thing is that the carriers will also have the option of customizing the OS to suit their own requirements. “bada” will definitely give a tough competition to other Linux based mobile OS’s like Google Android and Nokia Maemo. Samsung is also planning to launch it’s own App Store. Samsung will also host an official launch event for bada in London in December and will unveil its bada software development kit (SDK) to developers.
