Symbian is one of the most popular OS in the mobile segment. There are many Nokia mobiles and other brand mobiles running on the Symbian Series 40, Series 60 3rd edition and Symbian Series 60 5th edition. Now to compete with iPhone OS and the upcoming Samsung Bada, Symbian is working on Symbian 3 which is due in phones later this year.
Symbian^3 is the second open version of the Symbian platform and extends Symbian^2 in many ways, including graphics support for advanced layering and effects, full HDMI support and improved data performance which is ideal for streaming high definition video and audio.
