Motorola Droid Gets Multi-Touch With Updated Google Maps v3.4
Recently Android based Google Nexus One has got a Software Update which included Google Googles, Google Maps 3.4, Pinch-to-zoom functionality and fixed 3G connectivity. After Nexus One Software Update it’s time for Android based Motorola Droid to get an update for Google Maps and it is updated to v3.4. Sadly unlike the Nexus one which has got pinch-to-zoom functionality for the phone’s Browser, Gallery and Maps applications, Droid got the pinch-to-zoom feature just for the Google Maps.
The Maps application on Droid is updated to a new version, Google Maps 3.4, which includes:
- Starred items synchronized with maps.google.com. This helps you to access your favorite places from your phone or computer.
- Search suggestions from your personal maps.google.com history. This feature makes it easy for you to search for places you’ve searched for before.
- Night mode in Google Maps Navigation. This feature automatically changes your screen at night for easier viewing and driving.
Though the multi-touch feature is available for just Google Maps, I would strongly feel that Google will soon release an update so that the pinch-to-zoom functionality is available for the Browser and Gallery as well.
