Recently after the launch of the latest Windows 7, many iPhone users are reporting that they are facing issues in Syncing their iPhone with iTunes 9 on their Windows 7 machines running on Intel P55 motherboards. On the Apple iPhone thread named “iTunes 9 on Windows 7 x64 Has Problems with iPhone” many users are reporting that they are facing problems with iPhone syncing. When you try to Sync your iPhone with iTunes 9 you might be getting an error “iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because of an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)”.

It is observed that this iPhone Syncing issue is caused on motherboards with Intel P55 chipset. This issue is seen mainly on Microsoft Windows 7 – particularly Windows 7 x64 and the motherboards are from Gigabyte, MSI and Asustek. But some users are successful in solving the issue by deleting the iPodDevices.xml file from C:/Users/Samrat(username)/AppData/Local/Apple Computer/iTunes, by disabling Bonjour or by turning on C-state capability in BIOS.

Either Intel, Apple or Microsoft hadn’t spoke clearly about this issue, but leading motherboard maker Gigabyte issued a BIOS update that fixes the problem for some Windows 7 users who have been unable to sync their iPhone. So if you have a Gigabyte Motherboard, you can go head and download the BIOS update. But if you are using a different Motherboard, you need to wait for sometime until the root cause is found clearly and the issue is solved completely.
