Download Fennec Alpha 1 – Firefox Mobile for Windows Mobile 6
Mozilla has released the Fennec Alpha 1 for Windows Mobile 6 and it is available for download for developers and testers. The current Alpha release of Fennec is targeted and tested on the HTC Touch Pro. This release also supports Add-ons along with a gestures module. The release of Fennec will definitely give a tough competition to Opera Mobile and Skyfire, two other popular mobile web browsers.
The Alpha release of Fennec has got many bug fixes and performance upgrades. Fennec uses the JeMalloc memory management library to manage memory efficiently. Fennec’s UI has been rebuilt to be entirely on CSS which means that tweaking the UI of Fennec for different screen sizes and resolutions will be very easy. The other highlights include New Add-On Manager and Downloads Manager, Mozilla’s new JavaScript engine(TraceMonkey) and Faster application start-up time.
