Twitter Rolls Out Promoted Trending Topics After Promoted Tweets to Make Money
After “Promoted Tweets” Twitter has now rolled out “Promoted Trending Topics” to make money. Twitter has rolled out Promoted Tweets a couple of months back wherein they used to insert tweet ads between the normal tweets. After the Promoted Tweets, Twitter has now started Promoted Trends and the first promoted trend is “ToyStory 3“, the upcoming animation from Disney/Pixar.
Similar to the Promoted Tweets, Promoted Trends will automatically fade away if they don’t drive engagement from the users. A promoted trend is shown below the list of the regular Trending Topics on the homepage and on users profile pages. A Promoted Trend is clearly and a click to the link leads to a search for the topic similar to other Trending Topics.
Like Trending Topics, Promoted Trends are already trending on Twitter but haven’t yet made their way into the Trending Topics list. Promoted Trends are clearly marked as “Promoted” and if a topic isn’t already being talked about on Twitter, it cannot be a Promoted Trend.
