Firefox to Get Multi Process Support
Written By Samrat P on 8 May 2009
We know that Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 uses separate system processes for each browser tab. And now Firefox is also planning to start the same. The Mozilla platform will be using separate processes to display the browser UI and web content which will greatly increase the browser stability and user experience by taking advantage of multi-processor computers.
The main goals of the new “Content Processes” project is to provide better application UI responsiveness, improve stability from slow rendering or crashes caused by the content and improve the browser performance on multi-core machines. The future goals include providing security enhancements by running the content process in protected or isolated modes.
