PlayStation 3 Firmware v3.10 Update Adds Facebook Support
As we have expected Sony has shown us a preview video about the upcoming PlayStation 3.10 firmware update. The main notable feature in the latest PlayStation 3.10 firmware update is the incorporation of Facebook functionality. The latest firmware update incorporates Facebook into the PS3 experience. To get the Facebook experience on your PS3 you just need to link your PlayStation Network account to your Facebook account. After linking your account you will have an option on your PS3 to automatically update your Facebook News Feed with Trophy and PlayStation Store activity.
Apart from giving more options to the users the update also helps developers to provide more information with their Games. This update also enables developers to set specific criteria in their titles to publish additional game information to your News Feed. You can then check out your updates, and those of your friends, on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media favorites through the PS3’s built-in web browser.
Additional highlights from PlayStation 3.10 firmware update
The Photo category on the XMB has been revamped to make it easier to see more of your photos stored on the PS3.
The PSN Friends List has been modified and you can now choose a color for your PSN ID on the XMB.
