Gateway Announces LT2016u – A 3G Enabled Netbook in Collaboration With Verizon
Gateway and Verizon Wireless are joining their hands to release a new Netbook which supports Verizon’s 3G mobile broadband service. Starting from Oct 4th, The Gateway LT2016u will be available through Verizon’s website – verizonwireless.com and Verizon stores. Gateway LT2016u will retail for $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate, which will be sent as a debit card. Gateway LT2016u will be available in “night sky black” color.
Gateway LT2016u features a 10.1″ WSVGA LED display, an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk drive, 0.3MP webcam, built-in speakers and microphone, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB and VGA ports, a three-in-one media card reader, a six-cell battery. LT2016u comes pre-installed with Windows XP Home and weighs 2.95lbs.
Customers have to sign up for a two-year mobile broadband contract which includes 250MB of monthly access plus $.10 per MB overage for $39.99 a month, or 5GB plus $.5/MB overage at $59.99/month.
